Here are the rest of my rug photos from the Lenexa hook-in yesterday (February 26, 2011). I posted the first set yesterday - so be sure to check out that post too. If you would like to know the designer of any of these rugs, leave a comment and I will try to find out. Anita probably knows lots of them. Some of them you may be able to read on the little white tags. Next year I think I will photograph the rug, then the little white tag (close-up).

I loved this. It is a self-portrait - small, maybe 8" by 12" or so?
This black background was done in perfectly straight lines.
It is hard to tell in this photo, but the pansy is very dimensional - not regular flat hooking. It is "sculpted".
Both of these portraits were hooked from photos.
These are just incredible - fine hooking, and they are big! Patterns by Victoria Ingalls.
I really love this big carpetbag (below). If I remember correctly, it was made by the same person who hooked the wise men panels above.
It is hard to see in this photo (below), but the woman has on a big diamond ring! There is actually a "diamond" there on her finger! Really cute.
This is a pattern by Cactus Needle (Nola Heidbreder's sister). I think it is called "It's a Jungle Out There". Beautifully hooked by my BFF Anne! She is an animal lover and I think you can tell by looking at this rug! I remember the day at Anita's when Anne was trying to choose a background color. Anita suggested this green - I didn't think it would work (but didn't say anything!). Well, I was So Wrong! It's perfect.
These next two rugs were in Nola Heidbreder's booth. Both of them are good examples of using the same dark color to outline everything. The outline wool is actually a tie-dyed piece with grays/blacks/darks - not a solid color.
This is called Sea Glass. It is done is a very narrow cut - looks like a 3, maybe 4. Stunning!
This is not a hooked rug (as you can probably tell!) Embroidery on white wool.
The hooking on this one was beautiful and precise.
This rug (actually it is a pillow) was in the Heart and Hare booth. I MUST make this someday (like I need more bunny rugs...). Click for Heart and Hare website. The pattern is called Flip Flop Bunny Hop.
One of the highlights of my day at the hook-in was talking to Susan Quicksall and finding out that she has been watching my progress on Crazy Horse Runner here on my blog!!! I had no idea!!! Thanks Susan and don't forget to let me know if I goof up on the background!
Well, I'm headed upstairs to try out my new blue background color I got from Anita yesterday. Thanks to Anita White and to all the other vendors who bring their wares and their expertise and their talent and their passion for rug hooking to the hook-in every year. Bad weather??? No problem - bring it on!!!
